Tech of the month: Show MeFor this month’s installment of the Tech of the Month series, we’re taking a look at technologies that can be used both inside and outside of the classroom. Recently, there has been an increased focus on extending the boundaries of the classroom through the use of digital technologies. The aim of this transition is to help students learn and develop in different environments and have 24/7 access to education materials.

That’s why our pick for Tech of the month in May is the ShowMe Interactive Whiteboard app. ShowMe is a fantastic app that allows teachers to create voice-over video tutorials using a digital whiteboard. ShowMe’s appeal is its ease of use – teachers can easily switch between images, text editing, drawing and erasing, and share tutorials with their private classroom or with the public community of teachers and students. ShowMe is a useful tool to help students who might otherwise not have the time or ability to be present in the classroom, such as students that require distance education, further consolidation of knowledge or simply missed a class. Visit their website to learn more.

Stay tuned for June’s post where we’ll explore technologies that can be used to assist classroom learning. Until then, let us know in the comments what you think of ShowMe and any other technologies that you’re using.
