Tech of the month: KahootIn the next instalment of our “Tech of the Month” blog series, we’re highlighting educational games. Drawing on the power of digital learning, online games combine education and fun to motivate students to improve key skills such as numeracy and literacy.

Our pick for April is Kahoot. With Kahoot, teachers can create custom educational quizzes and games for students to play on their laptops or tablets, which are engaging and can provide greater understanding of topics. There is no download or login required: the software can simply be accessed from any device with a browser.

To find out more about Kahoot and create your free account, visit their website. Please note that the app is currently only available for Android devices.

If you’re looking for the perfect complement to some of Jacaranda’s most popular subject series, check out Knowledge Quest for English. Featuring curriculum-aligned content, they’re the ideal activity for teachers to set for homework following the exploration of a topic, particularly as NAPLAN testing is just around the corner.

Stay tuned for next month’s post where we’ll continue to explore the educational tech market. Until then, let us know in the comments below what you think of Kahoot or any other apps you use.
